Alpha Universal manufactures heavy duty TG7 Self-Piercing Eyelets. The eyelets are made from Stainless Steel (304) or Brass eyelets with “spurs” that grip onto your material.
The eyelets are self-piercing. The female washer part of the eyelet has teeth that hook into the material when crimped together with the male washer of the eyelet; this shares the load on both washers. A hole is made into the material when crimped together using the Eyelet Closing Presses. When rope is thread through the eyelets and pulled tight, the teeth prevent the eyelets from tearing out of the material.
The TG7 eyelets have an inside diameter of 12.5mm and an outside diameter of 26.5mm. Stainless Steel and Brass are both rust free and both metals are equal in strength, allowing for outdoor use.
The Brass Eyelets are gold in colour and can be colour coated in black (black passivated coating) or silver (nickel plated). Due to the size of the TG7 Eyelets Self-Piercing, the eyelet has a more industrial use. The eyelets are used on big truck-sails, a rope of up to 12.5mm in thickness can be woven through comfortably.
Alpha Universal also manufactures Eyelet Closing Equipment that is designed to be used for the Self-Piercing TG4 and TG7 Eyelets.
